THP was the prime designer and provided parking garage design and structural engineering services for the Cincinnati Black Music Walk of Fame. The outdoor venue educates visitors about the contributions of Black musicians to Cincinnati’s music history.

The complex project faced numerous challenges, including the Covid-19 pandemic, a fast-track schedule, evolving funding, an uncertain supply chain with long lead times, tying in the project to the adjoining garage, the need to fit The Walk’s radial layout within the riverfront park’s geometric layout, and ensuring design and construction integrity (e.g., security, climate control, weatherproofing and planning for floods) for the electronics and interactive features involved (e.g., lighting, A/V, augmented reality technology, music, dance floor, and kiosks).
