Restoration and Waterproofing|Building Envelopes

THP has provided assessment and rehabilitation services on over four million square feet of troubled exterior building envelopes. Problems encountered include: water infiltration, unrelieved volume change, inadequate attachment of the façade to the building frame and weathering of materials. Projects have involved repair of historic landmarks, complete exterior wall replacements, and assessing skyscraper facades in the United States and Canada.

Often owners have seen the cost of THP’s services offset by our effective planning and administration of the repair procurement process.

Our staff, performing hands-on surveys, is trained on aerial platforms, swing stages and rappelling. Testing equipment and processes include thermal imaging cameras, moisture meters, pachometers, boroscopes, bond tests, echo sounding and moisture analysis software. THP experience includes these building systems: masonry facades, stone facades, concrete façades, curtain wall systems - glass, brick, stone, metal, vinyl, wood and EIFS, vertical glazing, skylight and roofs.

Rappelling and Rope Access

THP's staff is Society of Professional Rope Access Technician (SPRAT) certified to provide more comprehensive assessments and inspection of structures. SPRAT is a professional organization dedicated to training personnel for work at heights.

THP can assess high rise buildings, towers, utility stacks, stadiums, skylights and more.

Rope access provides the building owner an expedient, cost effective, low operational impact means to know the condition of their building envelope. With rope access, the building manager can verify that façade components are intact and performing as intended. THP utilizing its certified team of rope access technicians, can identify conditions that could unknowingly undermine the integrity of a building envelope.
