Hamilton County Findlay Market Parking Garage Reached a Major Construction Milestone

The $19 million Hamilton County Findlay Market Parking Garage recently celebrated a major milestone with its topping-out ceremony. Located adjacent to Cincinnati’s historic Findlay Market in the Over-the-Rhine (OTR) district, the new seven-level facility will provide 519 parking spaces for residents and visitors. Designed by THP as prime designer, parking consultant, and structural engineer of record, the garage was carefully planned to complement the architectural character and vibrancy of the OTR neighborhood.

The project grew out of Hamilton County’s recognition of increased parking demand in the area following THP’s successful completion of the West End Garage near TQL Stadium. With Findlay Market continuing to grow in popularity and FC Cincinnati drawing record crowds, the need for accessible and convenient parking became clear. The new garage addresses this demand by offering a balance between functionality, neighborhood sensitivity, and community benefit.

Beyond its role as a parking structure, the development integrates ground-level retail spaces that extend the energy of Findlay Market down to Central Parkway. This design choice not only enhances the pedestrian experience but also fosters connections between the market, surrounding businesses, and the broader community. The garage will serve as both an amenity and a gateway, welcoming visitors to explore the unique offerings of OTR while supporting local residents and businesses.

THP guided the design team through an extensive planning and coordination effort to determine the most efficient garage footprint, location, and geometry. Multiple site layouts were studied to maximize parking efficiency while balancing the concerns of various stakeholders in the neighborhood. The result is a structure that alleviates congestion, supports local economic activity, and enhances the historic character of one of Cincinnati’s most beloved districts.
