Growing up in a city on the river, Cincinnati, Ohio, I often wondered how the structures around me were built. I would try to figure out what parts of the buildings helped to hold them up. I now know that structural elements of the building keep it standing and safe, but at the time I did not even know what a structural engineer was. Once I learned about structural engineering, it led me to desire a career in this field. My co-op experience at a structural engineering firm really solidified this decision. I enjoy helping to enhance communities through the built environment and making sure that people are safe.

I grew up enjoying crafts, often thinking outside of the box and using items on hand to enhance my Halloween costumes. Working within constraints and still being creative has been carried through and helps me to design projects.

Working for THP and our clients on innovative projects brings a new set of challenges to solve, which I appreciate. I have always liked puzzles and math, often doing activities which involve problem solving. These activities give me something to work toward without a set path of steps, stretching design imagination.
Designing as part of a team brings me enjoyment. This interest in collaboration began when I was an athlete, participating in rugby and rowing. I see the same commitment to continuous learning and dedication from my time in sports mirrored in the built industry.

Outside of work I enjoy being outside, doing puzzles, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends. I grew up in a big Cincinnati sports fan family, so I love rooting for the Bengals and the Reds.
