THP provided structural engineering services for the Cuyahoga County Public Library’s Parma Heights Branch Library. The 22,000 SF library features open community spaces, distinctive rooflines, and a prominent cantilevered canopy that complements the natural character of the adjacent Big Creek Reservation. Through close collaboration with the architect, THP value-engineered the canopy structure by replacing mass timber beams with steel framing and wood inserts, preserving the desired timber aesthetic while delivering a more economical solution. The result is a modern community destination that blends architectural character, structural efficiency, and a strong connection to its surrounding environment
