THP provided structural engineering services for the 77,000 SF Galen College of Nursing Center for Clinical Advancement in Denver, Colorado. Developed by HCA Healthcare and Galen College of Nursing, the facility supports nursing education and clinical training through classrooms, simulation spaces, and hands-on learning environments designed to replicate real-world healthcare settings.

The multi-story facility includes clinical skills labs, mock patient rooms, collaborative learning spaces, and a prominent two-story entrance atrium. THP worked closely with the design team to develop structural solutions that supported the architect’s vision while accommodating the building’s diverse façade materials and high-performance enclosure systems. Structural detailing for stone, curtain wall, and metal panel systems incorporated thermal break considerations to support the project’s energy-efficiency goals.

Project challenges included evaluating vibration performance for rooftop mechanical systems that serve sensitive educational and clinical training spaces. THP performed detailed vibration analyses to verify occupant comfort and minimize vibration transmission throughout the structure.
